We manufactured this padded watch strap with infinite care to each detail, in Black Full Grain Leather. This is a handcrafted strap in the Bocane Atelier, limited series, not a mass-produced item.
Our Italian Full Grain is a beautiful leather and it will keep looking great for much longer than other leathers. It is known for gaining a gorgeous patina while worn, but it is also more sensitive to scratches, press marks and will stain more easily than other leathers.
Each pad for each watch strap is manufactured from a piece of thick full-grain leather, cut to size and sanded to the right shape. Setting it in the absolute perfect centered position takes skill and patience.
We hand sew padded straps to achieve this beautiful look, usually in a contrasting color. 'Cause it's worth some spotlight, right? :)

The watch band size is the lug width, where the strap goes on the watch, and the buckle width, where the buckle closes the strap to fit the watch on your wrist. Most of our straps are tapered - this means they are wider at the lug than they are at the buckle. We do make straight ones though, the same size at the lug and buckle.
Lug size is very important. It must be just right so the strap fits your watch. Use a caliper or a ruler to measure the distance between your watch lugs. The buckle size is important if you want to keep your old buckle. If not, you can choose from available sizes, most of our straps come with a buckle. Our buckles have spring bars and can be removed from the strap. Measurement are in milimeters.
Tip! Sometimes the lug size or both lug and buckle size will be stamped on your old wristband. You can check, but it is best to also measure, just to be sure.
You might also need your strap length. This is the length of the long strap (the one with holes) and of the short strap (the one with the buckle).
Stock straps are Medium Length (115 / 75 mm), which fits best a wrist circumference between 16.5 and 19.5 cm. You can choose the length you want for special order straps. If you would like a stock strap design in a different size or length just let us know, we love custom orders!

Bocane wristbands available in stock can be fitted on any watch with classic straight ends, one straight spring bar for the long strap and one for the short strap. The size of the strap must be right for the watch, using the watch strap size guide.
